Greetings! We are into Week 2 of Nanowrimo, and I’ve created a brief video discussion about three different ways to keep up motivation if you’re heading into Week 2 with doubts about your novel. This is my first ever attempt at creating a video blog! How exciting. I hope you enjoy it, but if you don’t have just shy of seven minutes to watch it right now, skim below to get the basic gist.
Three Things to Keep in Mind This Week if You’re Having Doubts
- Employ small things to switch up your current scene if you’re wracked with boredom. In the video I discuss an example shared by Nanowrimo participant Kate879.
- Don’t be afraid to receive feedback directly from your characters! In the video I briefly discuss “breaking the fourth wall” with an example from participant daryth.lei.
- Sometimes, you need to take drastic measures to move along the process of characterization, plot arc, etc. In the video I use an example by participant kaleidoscopic kats.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, feel free to refer to my post, And so it begins: National Novel Writing Month

Thanks for watching!
